Fishbowl is a youth club for free thinking youths in the east Clare area. It started in Scariff about four or five years ago and since then its just been growing and growing (Well it has only grown member wise - the premises are still very small).

Fishbowl youth club is a place where young people are given opportunities that they wouldn't find anywhere else. Whether it is to meet other young people from the area or to learn about different cultures and traditions on one of the many intercultural exchanges that Fishbowl is associated with.

 

In fishbowl there is also band nights organised by the core members to give young bands a chance to share their music with everyone else. Depending on the interests of the members, Fishbowl also organises many different workshops, for example dance, relaxation, and capoeira. With these workshops the Fishbowl members are able to explore their interests and share them with their friends.

 

Fishbowl is open on Fridays from six until 10. During this time fishbowl members come and chat and just “chill out”. On Tuesdays there is usually fishbowl meetings where the core members of the club get together to organise events; such as bands nights, exchanges and workshops, and to discus the general running of fishbowl. If there are any problems or news they are also discussed at this time.

 

All in all fishbowl is a very active youth club that reaches out to the young people in east Clare and gives them the opportunity to make new friends meet new people and expand their cultural horizons
