Volunteers Needed:
Skyview Youth Club based in Rineanna View is looking for volunteers over 20 to help plan and run youth club activities from 7-9pm every Thursday night during school term. One additional hour long planning meeting a month will also be required. The club provides planned activities and development opportunities supported by the local youth worker for First and Second Year secondary school students.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to be involved in a challenging yet rewarding profession then contact Cathal on the number at the top of the page and he will arrange to meet with you and provide you with further information.
Skyview Story So Far:
Skyview YC was set up in January 2005 by a group of volunteers and the Shannon youth Worker. The Club was set up to provide secondary school goers with an outlet to make new friends and have contact with young adult volunteers in a safe and comfortable environment.
The club is currently recruiting new leaders to volunteer at the Youth club for 2 hours on thursday nights. to do so please contact the number at the top of the page for more details and an application form.
Membership
The club is open to secondary school students from first to second year in Shannon. To join simply go to The Respond Community Building, Rineanna View any Thursday during the club season from 7pm to 9pm and register with a volunteer in charge.
Admission is €2 per night.

Activities & Events
The club provides its members with a wide range of activities throughout the year. These include:
Pool Cinema trips
Table-tennis Movie nights
Soccer Karaoke nights
Basketball Fun game nights
Uni-hoc
Bowling Movie making
Drama
Arts& Crafts Baking
The club has built links with Omagh Youth Centre and has organised two successful youth exchanges. A trip to Northern Ireland in 2008, and hosted the OYC in Clare in 2009.

Who we cater for:
The club altered the age group it caters for in 2010 from 13-16 First and Second years. It is hoped that this younger age group will benefit more from the club experience as they will be of similar age and will be able to relate to each other better.
Chill Zone Cafe
Shannon now has a Youth Café for young people aged 15-17 in the same venue as the youth club. This runs from 4-10p.m. on Fridays and Saturday from 4-9pm and is known as Chill Zone Café.
