The KBC is now open every Friday from 5-10pm and Saturday from 4-9pm in The Respond Community Building, Rineanna View, Shannon. A very reasonably priced menu offers a range of sandwiches and panini options as well as a wide variety of coffees and beverages and a tuck shop.
 
Become a Volunteer?
If you want to volunteer please contact Roisín or Páraic at Shannon Youth Office 061 364318 and they will be glad to meet with you and provide you with any info you need.
Café shifts are two hours duration and a rota is made out weekly.
 
Membership
Membership to the KBC is free, anyone aged 16-21 can attend the café no strings attached.
Just call to the door any Friday or Saturday during opening hours and you will be welcomed in.
If you wish you can fill out the optional membership form so that you can be added to the mailing contact list for information on upcoming events and promotions. They are available at the KBC counter every weekend.

The kick Back Cafe is open to all young people aged 16-21 years in Shannon, Co. Clare. The cafe is situated in The Respond Community Building, Rineanna View, (behing St John & Paul Church). The cafe provides a safe and comfortable space for young people to hang out with friends and offers a range of activities and entertainment for all. If you haven't been yet, then come along and see for yourself how young people in Shannon have designed and made the KBC the place to be at the weekend.
 
Story So Far:
The Kick-Back Café is a Youth Café for 16-21 year olds set up and designed by a similar age group. The café took a year to develop and plan and was officially launched by Mayor of Shannon Cllr Tony Mc Mahon on 20th January 2007.
 
Aim of the Café
The aim of providing such an outlet in Shannon is to offer young people a fun and entertaining place to go at the weekends that is alcohol, drug and stress free. It is hoped that young people aged 16-21 will avail of this safe and comfortable space and consider it as a place that they can call their own in Shannon.

Layout of the Café

The café area includes Jukebox, bookshelf, & seating area with leather furniture and 5 tables set out in the eating area. Upstairs has a pool, table-tennis and air hockey table as well as a Playstation area with comfortable bean bags for hanging out. The second floor also has a youth information display board which is updated regurlarly by the Youth Information Officer with CYS.
