An great nights entertainment took place last Saturday night May 3rd when the Shannon Music Project hosted a very popular Acoutic Night. The night was an opportunity for local musicians to showcase their talents for their friends and family in a very relaxed and friendly environment upstairs in the SMP prctice room.
The musical talent on display on the night was breathtaking with many performers singing their original selection of songs, the night even saw bongos being used and a variety of songs from several genres. The SMP will review the event and will be planning another in the near future i'm sure!!
Summer Event:
The SMP Committee are currently in the process of planning a summer outdoor bands event in August 08'.
The committee hope that this event will become a signature event for the project and will involve musicians for both Shannon and Ennis Music Projects as well as invited guest bands.

What we have to offer
- Fully Equipped Practice Space
A practice space can be booked and equipment is available to practice with. At the moment there is a 5 piece Pearl drum kit, PA system, and Marshall amplification in store. Practice space rental is €5 per person for 2 hours. Times are agreed with the Youth Worker in advance.
- Bands Performances
Every school term the music project committee plans and organises music events in the Respond Building in Rineanna View. The main events organised are Bands nights where local Shannon Bands and guest bands from other music projects showcase their musical talents in front of an audience of adoring fans.
- Acoustic nights @ The KBC
If your looking for a quieter night out and a chance to see local musicians and singers perform in a more relaxed and laidback environment, then the Shannon Music Project Acoustic nights are for you.
Anyone aged 15-25 interested in playing at an acoustic event can just simply put their name forward on the night. Admission is only €4 and there is free tea /coffee and biscuits served at all SMP Acoustic nights.
SHANNON MUSIC PROJECT
Shannon Music Project, previously known as Shannon Bands Project has been in existence for about 6 years now. The SMP currently works with young people aged 15-25 from the Shannon region. The project provides the members with the opportunity to plan and organise events for themselves with a little help from the local Youth Worker.
Membership
Membership of the project is open to all young people in Shannon ages 15-25 interested in practicing or playing music. Membership is easy just fill out the SMP membership form and drop it into or email it to address above.
