Kilrush Youth Work
There are two aspects to the delivery of Youth Work in Kilrush
- Mainline Youth Work
- Community Youth Work
Mainline Youth Work
This involves the provision of support and training for volunteers and communities who are involved with or committed to the delivery of youth Work initiatives in the Kilrush area. There are currently two Youth Clubs being supported in Kilrush. In addition young people in Kilrush are participating in the Social and Personal Development Group work and community action programmes.
Community Youth Work
With the support of EIRI Corca Baiscinn and HSE West, Clare Youth Service has established the Kilrush Youth Project. This project works with young people living in the John Paul estate, a community with particular needs. Programmes run within the project are open to young people living in the area. Programmes include:
- Gardening Project
- Summer Camps
- Arts Project
- Fishing Project
- Young Women's Activities
- 'Safe Space' Programme
- Chill Out House - Drop-in-centre
- Walking Group
- Junior Soccer Group
- Senior Soccer Group
